The association
Established
in Turin (Italy) in 2001.
The Association expresses the decentralized approach which is currently
in progress in the actions of cooperation, as it is reflected in its membership,
which includes - with different responsibilities - the National Government
(Ministry of Foreign Affairs); the Regional Council of Piedmont and the
Province Council and Municipality of Turin; the two main Universities
of Piedmont (Politecnico and University of Turin) and its main water service
agencies (SMAT and ATO3); the Compagnia di San Paolo; Fondazione CRT and
the Chamber of Commerce of Turin; CSI Piemonte.
Hydroaid’s projects resort to the support of the International Training
Center of the International Labor Organization; ERIS; IPALMO; International
Association of the Non-confessional Volunteers; Istituto Italo Latino
Americano as well as of several scientific associations.
Hydroaid deals with two aspects which are universally considered as a
top priority in development: namely, the issues related to water and to
the so-called “capacity-building”.

Courses
- Core Course: Since 2002, HYA has been organizing every year the “Post Graduate
Specialization Course in Management of the Water Resources and Services“. This threemonth
course – held at the International Training Center of the International Labor
Organization (ITC - ILO) in Turin - is devised for engineers and managers of emerging
and/or developing countries. The objective is transferring to young professionals the criteria
and instruments which have been implemented in Italy for a correct efficient management
of the water resources
- Hydroaid-Brazil “IntegratedManagement of Water Resources and Urban Waste” (approx. 3
months).
Inaugurated in 2005, this course is held in Brasilia and is attended by 45 trainees from
Latin America and Portuguese-speaking countries of Africa.
