AIMS
The cooperation program takes place in the framework of the interinstitutional protocol between Hydroaid and the Ministério das Cidades of the Federal Government of Brazil.

The bilateral program of joint technical initiatives is addressed to: training on issues of environment, territory and water management; technical support for the integration of directives defining risk mitigation programs and natural resources management.

The ultimate aim is to improve the efficiency of the public agencies and to develop programs that integrate environmental requirements with development strategies that can accommodate economic growth and protect man and the environment.

MAIN TECHNICAL AREAS OF THE COOPERATION ACTIVITIES
  • hydraulic protection of the territory
  • integrated water management
  • waste management
  • land planning for hydraulic risk mitigation and prevention
  • conservation of water and land resource

RESULTS TODAY
The cooperation program undertaken between Hydroaid and the Ministério das Cidades has opened a wide arena of discussion that offers opportunities for outlining pathways and initiatives for in-depth analyses and real proposals in line with Brazilian administrative regulations and legislation in the management of water and environmental resources in urban and suburban areas
