Equal opportunities do not always ensure the same results!

The availability of infrastructures constitutes a necessary condition for development. Nevertheless these are not sufficient to face hard environmental condition (water scarcity, droughts or floods): appropriate social policies, administrative and management systems are necessary as well.

Hydroaid's formula for cooperation is drawn from this reflection.

Hydroaid stakes on the technical capabilities of the individuals and on their qualities to elaborate successful experiences in the Western countries for a fruitful application to their local realities.

Hydroaid provides intellectual instruments for the challenge to conciliate expectation of social development with the natural resources available.

All the cooperation projects are coordinated with the beneficiary countries; bilateral teams of experts programme the different phases of the project.

Hydroaid is a local experiment which was born out of the wish of the local, public, financial, academic authorities of the Piedmont System and which has become nowadays a national and international reference example of cooperation.
