A trasparent “Mole Antonelliana ”, the mascot of HYDROAID

The Mole Antonelliana is a monument of Turin. A glass Mole Antonelliana, with transparencies and light games, is the gadget-mascot selected by Hydroaid to present the “one world: Int. Cooperational Cities” project to the hundreds of foreign delegations who met in Turin in September 2005.
The bottle is 32 cm high and reproduces exactly the Mole Antonelliana. A series of these bottles was donated in this occasion by Vetrerie Betti, a company devoted to the manufacturing of glass containers for drinks and food products located in Settimo Torinese, which was founded at the beginning of the 20th century and is today led by the fourth generation of the Betti family. The Mole-shaped bottle unites the practicality of modern life to the artistic taste and boasts a long history.
The first bottle of this kind, of fine artistic craftsmanship, dates back to 1945 and can still be found - at an exorbitant price - in the specialized markets. Another bottle, whose production started in the 1960’s, was simpler, far less expensive, though somewhat demeaned by the plastic plug, typical of those years.

The production of the current Mole Antonelliana started in 2005: a technically modern vessel with an almost handicraft-image, which unites the “glass only” tradition to the essential features of the new trends and constraints of automated manufacturing.
A special bottle, not to be disposed of after use!
