Extensive field and university published work in conservation biology and animal and plant ecology in more than two decades of formal professional association with scientific research institutions.
In his current capacity as Overseas Development Aid Expert at the Directorate General for Development Co-operation of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he contributed to the:

• environmental procedural and policy evolution as well as to the management of Italian Development Co-operation environmental programmes via both the bilateral and multilateral channels;
  
• establishment and supervision of an Environmental Sector within the Italian ODA agency;
  
• establishment and implementation of co-operation agreements with scientific/research institutions and international environmental IIOO and NGOs;
  
• Italian delegation at international political and/or technical congresses and donor meetings, including as focal point for environmental matters.
