Professional skills
From 1973 to 1983 Gianfranco Cattai was member of LVIA’s Presidency, Association of cooperation and international voluntary. Furthermore, from 1973 to 1988, he was Responsible of the project area carrying out more than 150 missions in both the 11 Countries which are beneficiaries of LVIA interventions and in others Countries for studies, conferences and exchanges. He is currently responsible for the Communication Area, fundraising and territory promotion of LVIA.

From 1974 to 1983 he was Member of the Italian Foreign Affairs Office in the technical Commission for the Cooperation and Development to approve development projects of Non-Government Organizations. He analyzed approximately 500 projects.

From 1978 to 1988 he was elected by the Board of 150 Italian’s NGO as Member of the Italian Delegation of European Community.

He was Professor of “Technical Architecture” in the Engineering University of the Somalia National University.

From 1994 he was Chairman of ASTAC (Support Association for Specialization School of “Technology”, “Architecture” and “Towns on the developing Countries” for the Politecnico of Turin). The ASTAC Members were: the city of Turin, the District of Turin, the city of Grugliasco, the Chamber of Commerce and Handcraft of Turin, the Borini and Prono Societies, Codelfa, Tuxor and the CICSENE. The ASTAC had also the support by the Regional Council of Piedmont. The 31st of December 2003, according to the new University system, the School became Master and Specialized Course “Habit, Technology and Development”. Actually, ASTAC finished the own function.

In 1997 Gianfranco Cattai contributed to the implementation and start of the web sites “UNIMONDO-ONE WORLD” where he is currently member of the Scientific Committee.

He promoted the aggregation of 10 international cooperation agencies recognised from The Foreign Affairs Office and from European Union (CCM, CICSENE, CISV, ISCOS, LVIA, MAIS, MSP, MLAL, OAF-I, RETE) that appointed themselves in the “Comitato Cittadella della Civiltà” (“Committee of Civilization City”). He currently is the Chairman of this Committee.

Since 1986 he is Director of CICSENE, local development and cooperation Agency.
