Seventh Hydroaid training programme 2008 on planning and management of water resources

Every year, HYDROAID hosts more than 30 students working in water resources management agencies in developing countries. Over 25% of the course participants are women.

Fourth Hydroaid/Ministerio das Cidades Course on “Sanitation Integrated Management”

Hosted by Universidade de Brasilia - UnB, the Master offers 30 fellowships for managers and technicians of the public administration. The programme’s goal is to enhance the integrated approach to the management of the sanitation services. The Master is open to participants from Brazil, Latin America and African Portuguese-speaking Countries.



Sierra Leone Project
The Italian Directorate General for Cooperation and Development financed in 2007 a mission to Sierra Leone, entrusting HYDROAID to design a training program (to be developed mainly in situ), addressed to managers and technicians of ministries, local administrations and facilities on: water management, water systems governance, land protection and sanitation.
Brasil Project
The cooperation program tooks place in the framework of the interinstitutional protocol between Hydroaid and the Ministério das Cidades of the Federal Government of Brazil...

2008 Declared International Year of Sanitation

The video, realized by Reuters, witnesses the dramatic situation of living of thousands of people in Kibera. Kibera is the biggest slum in Nairobi (Kenya) and the second largest in Africa after Soweto. Sanitation is a key priority. Watch the video.

TOWARDS an ESD NATIONAL ACTION PLAN - SYRIA
The dept of Development at the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in Damascus is organising the national conference entitled " TOWARDS an ESD NATIONAL ACTION PLAN FOR EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINBLE DEVELOPMENT IN SYRIA" january 28-30 at Holy Cross Hall in Damascus. The Conference is organised in collaboration with State Ministry of Environment and aims to introduce and promote Education for Sustainable Development (EDS) at a national level. Dr. Rossella Monti had been invited to participate the Conference on EDS and she will coordinate the session "Water Education"

International Symposium: “Regionalization and associated management of the public services for the treatment of the Urban Solid Waste”.
Organized within the framework of the international technical cooperation between Hydroaid and the Ministério das Cidades-Federal Government of Brazil, in collaboration with the Brazilian Ministério do Meio Ambiente and the Government of the State of Bahia, the Symposium collects and presents the results of a two-year activity developed on the subject of associated systems for the management of the Urban Solid Waste.

UNESCO Water Education Workshop in Europe and North America
Hydroaid, represented by its Director, Dr. Rossella Monti, participated the workshop "Towards Strategies with Impact in Water Education". The results of the committes had been pubblished in the Proceedings of the UNESCO Regional Workshop on Water and Education in Europe and North America, 26 – 27 February 2009, UNESCO-IHE, Delft, The Netherlands
